Thomas Osborn is a New York–based hairdresser, creative director, and educator who coaches stylists the way a great bandleader rehearses a set: fundamentals first, then freedom. After joining the TIGI team in 1989, he became known for building education that makes technique feel usable—designing courses for hairdressers at every level and keeping the craft sharp in the real world of clients and deadlines.

He’s spent decades creating and leading basic-to-advanced seminars in salons, academies, and on stages worldwide, and he’s helped shape advanced curriculum as a former VP of Education and Creative Director within TIGI/Unilever. His work lives at the intersection of cut, texture, and individuality—pushing stylists to respect natural movement and make shapes that fit the person wearing them.

Based behind the chair at The Blackstones Collective in NYC’s East Village, Thomas brings a “beginner’s spirit” to high-level craft—equal parts discipline, taste, and calm confidence.
