Andy Judd
East Nashville, Tennessee, USA
Andy Judd (he/they) is a Nashville-based stylist and educator who treats hair like a mixtape — part romance, part punk show, all feeling. From their studio in East Nashville, Andy is known for sculpting shags, mullets, “moon bangs,” and lived-in shapes that honor a client’s natural texture and personality rather than forcing them into a before-and-after template.
Over more than a decade behind the chair, Andy has carved out a lane by doing the opposite of safe, cookie-cutter hair. Their signature “sketch + sculpt” approach blends razor work and dry cutting to carve airy, wisp-filled silhouettes that move, grow out softly, and feel like the wearer’s own art piece. Clients — often musicians, artists, and creatives — come to Andy for transformative cuts that feel like a reset, not just a trim, a philosophy they’ve shared on industry podcasts and panels.
As an educator and associate creative director, Andy’s work has been spotlighted by Modern Salon, Beauty Launchpad, Elevate Hair, and more, with classes that unpack everything from fringe mapping and razor techniques to building queer-affirming, genderless cutting menus. Their teaching style is candid and generous: expect real talk about boundaries, client fit, and goal-setting alongside technical demos. For stylists and teams who want their cutting skills and their culture to feel braver, kinder, and more expressive, Andy offers the kind of education that sticks with you long after the mannequin heads are packed away.
