Douglas McCoy is the kind of hairdresser other hairdressers watch closely. Based in Spokane, Washington, he’s spent over three decades cutting hair, building salons, and teaching stylists how to turn haircuts into stories, not just shapes.

He first lit up the industry with House of POp, a salon built “for hardcore hairdressers” who live for education, music, and unapologetic creativity. There, Douglas turned his chairs into classroom seats—mentoring new talent, shaping advanced cutters, and creating an environment where art, film, and hair collided. Today, as Brand Storyteller & Educator at Lucid Room, Douglas bridges technical education with brand vision—leading collections, editorial shoots, in-salon training, and classes on razor work, consultation, and character-driven cutting.
