Sally Rogerson
Los Angeles, California & Scottsdale, Arizona, USA
Sally Rogerson is the kind of educator hairdressers talk about in back rooms and group chats — the one who makes technical cutting finally click. Based between Los Angeles and Scottsdale, she designs education for salon teams, independent stylists, and cosmetology schools who want modern, precise cutting skills without the ego or confusion.
Her story starts in a small town in England, where a goth, music-obsessed teenager left home at 16 to apprentice with Vidal Sassoon. She worked her way up to Creative Director of the London academy and later Senior Creative Director in Los Angeles, spending two decades on stage, in classrooms, and behind the scenes, shaping how hairdressers learn to cut.
In 2010, Sally stepped out on her own to launch SR Education, built on a simple idea: high-quality, modern, relevant education delivered in a personalized, hands-on way. That vision has since grown into SR Academy in Scottsdale and SR Hair Society in Koreatown, LA — an academy and salon dedicated to accessible, craft-focused training through programs like comprehensive cutting, men’s cutting, salon training tracks, and teacher mentorship.
Stylists who train with Sally describe her as clear, grounded, and quietly rock-and-roll: she strips haircutting back to its logic, then builds you up with systems you can use on real clients the very next day. If you’re ready to tighten your foundations, unify your team’s approach, or bring academy-level cutting into your everyday salon work, Sally’s classes are an invitation to take your craft seriously — and yourself a little less so.
