TSA Hair Pat-downs

I’m about a month late on this one, but the New York Times has an interesting article about TSA hair pat downs in US airports.

It sounds like there have been a couple of instances recently where TSA agents have singled out travellers with naturally large hair for special hair pat-downs even though they did not set off any detectors.  Meanwhile women with big blonde texas hair are just being waved through.

What are your thoughts on hair putdowns when travelling?

I think it’s truly wonderful to see more women wearing their hair naturally, so it’s sad to hear of stories like this.
