Granny F Salon

By christine

Lets start the New Year off with a look inside a super stylish salon in Toyokawa, Japan.

Granny F Salon was designed by architect Hiroyuki Miyake, who took an empty existing building and turned it into this beautiful space.

The architect and his team used traditional British bricklaying patterns for the ceramic tiles that create partitions between the styling and shampoo areas. These tiles have also been used on the exterior of the salon.

Bare pendent lights covered in copper leaf are strung throughout the space adding a bit of whimsy and softening the concrete floors.

All in all Granny F Salon is a lovely warm feeling space that evokes a calm and creative atmosphere.
