Super stylist Peter Gray
If you haven’t come across the work of Peter Gray before then you’re in for a treat. Peter is an internationally renowned hairdresser who has worked with fashion greats such as Maison Martin Margiela, Vivienne Westwood, Junya Watanabe and Hermès and magazines including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Numéro.
Peter rose to fame in the nineties working with photographers Sølve Sundsbø, Miles Aldridge and Richard Burbridge. He is now represented by The Collective Shift.
Born in South Africa Peter is know for his exceptional cutting skill, lightness of touch and recently for directing music videos and putting on incredible hair shows in Japan.
The Peter Gray x Masa Honda Hair show at the Asia Beauty Expo looks like it was incredible. Collaborating with his ex-assistant Masa Honda the pair turned out some truly exceptional work.
I really enjoyed this ModernSalon interview with him from Betsey Johnson’s 2011 show where Rodney Cutler gives him a good quizzing. Peter has some wonderful tips for up and coming stylists.
