Mourning Objects Made from Hair
I couldn’t resist posting about this although it definitely has some morbid undertones!
is a designer who has worked with such creative talents as Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. She has boldly created a jewelry line made from hair and cremated ashes of dead loved ones. She calls them wearable body pieces which include human material.
Here’s how she describes her work:
“The objects are supposed to be worn close to the body of the mourner symbolizing a lasting physical connection between two individuals even after death.”
There is a real beauty and craftmanship to her pieces although the concept might not be for everyone.
