Imagine this: your Thursday colour client needs to move her appointment.
You can think of a few regulars who might want it. Now you need to tell them, explain what fits, and make sure the same appointment doesn’t get promised twice.
That second job is where a useful opening can turn into a pile of messages.
Recent salonMonster updates give you another way to reach clients: bulk text messaging, available on V11 for eligible accounts. The team can help check whether yours is enabled.
The feature is the new part. Deciding what deserves a text is still yours.
Before you type Thursday at two
Start with the appointment you’re offering. A haircut and a colour appointment don’t ask for the same amount of time. If the opening has room for one particular service, say so.
Then decide who the message is for. Use your approved marketing audience and check the recipients before sending. A phone number in a client record isn’t, by itself, a reason to send a promotion.
For a hypothetical opening, the useful information might read:
“A haircut appointment has opened this Thursday at 2 pm with Alex. You can check the time and book here: [booking link].”
Adapt the example to your salon, with your required sender and unsubscribe details.
Notice what the example leaves out: a discount, a manufactured emergency and three other things you’re selling.
The client has one decision to make.
Read the preview as if it’s your phone
The bulk text work includes a preview step. Use it to read the message from the other side of the appointment book.
Can the recipient tell who it’s from? Is Thursday’s date clear? Does the service actually fit? Have you checked the booking link?
Keep the message about the reason you’re contacting them. If you’re announcing extra December appointments, make those appointments the subject. If you’re explaining a change to your working days, give the dates and the next step.
You don’t need a new campaign idea every time you open the app. You need something worth telling the people you’re contacting.
Keep the booking in the calendar
A message about an opening doesn’t reserve it.
Before confirming a time to anyone, check the calendar and complete the booking. If several people respond, the conversation still needs a clear finish: who is booked, for which service, with whom?
That’s the detail that gets lost when the replies are more exciting than the administration.
Bulk text gives you a way to send a message from salonMonster. It doesn’t decide which client should take Thursday, promise that anyone will book, or replace your judgement about when to contact people.
Try one useful message
Choose one real reason to get in touch. Write the message, review the audience, check the preview and confirm the cost before you send.
If your account doesn’t show bulk text, ask the salonMonster team to check your access. Access depends on your app version, subscription setup and feature enablement.
Thursday at two is a specific invitation. Give your clients the details they need to decide whether it’s for them.
