The patchwork

One room. A different system at every chair.

Your employees are on the salon's system. One renter keeps a paper book, another books through her DMs, and a third pays for an app nobody else can see. Clients ring the front desk for someone who is not on your calendar, and you end up taking messages for businesses that are not yours.

Most software makes you choose. Put everyone on the salon's account, and renters hand over their client lists. Keep everyone separate, and nobody can see who is in.

Mixed is not the problem.
Chaos is.

Connected accounts

Share your calendar. Keep your business.

Level 1 / View calendar

See when I’m booked.

A coworker can see your day: who is in, for what service, at what time and for how long.

  • Client name, service, time and length
  • No client contact details
  • Nothing can be changed

Level 2 / View booking details

Open my bookings.

Everything in the first level, plus the client’s contact details on each booking, as read only.

  • Booking details and client contact details
  • Read only
  • Handy when someone needs to reach your client

Level 3 / Book, edit and cancel

Book for me.

A coworker can book, move and cancel appointments in your calendar, with your clients and nobody else’s.

  • Book, edit and cancel in your calendar
  • Your own client list only
  • Made for a front desk that books for you

Connecting is stylist to stylist. You invite a coworker by email, they accept, and you choose one of three levels. Not sure which fits your room? Book a walkthrough and we will help you work it out.

How it fits

However your room is set up, it connects.

  1. 01

    A front desk and renters

Reception can book for every chair.

Each renter connects their own account to the front desk and chooses what it can do. Reception opens that renter’s calendar from the salon’s own login.

  2. 02

    A room of independents

See who is in without sharing a login.

Everyone runs an account of their own and connects with the coworkers they choose, at the level they choose.

  3. 03

    Part team, part renters

    Employees together, renters independent.

Your employees share the salon’s account with staff permissions. Renters keep an account of their own and connect in.

What stays yours

Connecting shares a calendar. Not a business.

Nobody has to hand over a client list to work in the same room. Every account stays the business of the person who owns it.

Clients
Your client list stays in your account. A coworker you let book for you can see it in order to book, and that is your choice to give.
Payments
Each account takes its own payments and keeps its own sales and reports.
Control
You choose the level for each coworker, and you can disconnect whenever you like.
Your account
It is your business, so it goes with you if you change salons.

What changes

And the same simple app in every account.

Booking

Clients book the right person, at any hour.

Online booking is open around the clock, so the front desk stops being the switchboard for every chair in the room.

Reminders

Reminders send themselves.

Email and text confirmations and reminders go out on their own, and they are included in the plan.

Service menu

Each person at their own price and pace.

The same service can have a different price and duration for each person who offers it.

Client records

Formulas somewhere safer than memory.

Colour formulas, notes and reference photos sit on each client record, ready for the next visit.

Payments

Everyone gets paid their way.

Take cards through salonMonster, or keep the reader and processor you already use.

Your numbers

Numbers without the spreadsheet.

Sales, tips and taxes are already totalled in your reports, person by person on a shared account.

Want to see all of it? Take the tour.

Pricing

One price list, however you split the room.

Staff who do not have a schedule, like a front desk, are free.

On the salon’s account
$30 a month for the first person, then $15 for each person added, up to $120 a month for seven or more.
On an account of their own
$30 a month for each renter, billed to them, with everything included.

Questions

What mixed salons ask before they switch.

How do connected accounts work?

Each person keeps their own salonMonster account. You invite a coworker by email, they accept, and you choose what they can see or do in your calendar. You can disconnect at any time.

What can a connected coworker see?

Only what you choose. There are three levels: your calendar without client contact details, your bookings with contact details as read only, or the ability to book, edit and cancel appointments for you with your own clients.

Does the salon get my client list?

No. Your clients stay in your account. If you let someone book for you, they can see your client list in order to book, and that is your choice to give.

Can the front desk book for a renter?

Yes, if the renter connects their account to the front desk and chooses the level that allows booking. The front desk then books in that renter’s calendar, with that renter’s own clients.

Do connected accounts share payments?

No. Each account takes its own payments and keeps its own sales and reports. Connecting shares a calendar, not a till.

A renter is moving on. What happens?

Their account goes with them, with their client list, history and settings exactly where they left them. They disconnect, and the sharing stops.

What does it cost?

Every account is its own subscription. A renter on an account of their own pays $30 a month. A salon account is $30 a month for the first person and $15 for each person added, up to $120 a month for seven or more, and staff who do not have a schedule, like a front desk, are free. Reminders, online booking, client records and reports are included either way.

Will everyone actually use it?

We walk people through it before you go live, so nobody is learning it on a busy Saturday. Emily Curran at Shine in the Market told us all her stylists commented on how much they liked it compared to anything they had used before.

Are we locked in?

No. It is month to month with no contract, and you can export your records as CSV files at any time. If you pay and change your mind in your first 30 days, you get a full refund.
